The White River National Wildlife Refuge is located
just north of the confluence of the White, Arkansas, and Mississippi
Rivers and is one of the largest remaining tracks of bottomland
forest in the region. The shear size of this area and the number
of oxbox lakes, swamps, roads, trails, etc. can make it difficult
to pick a place to start your explorations. Thanks to Cowper, numerous
