| DESTINATIONS - Lake Poinsett State
Park |
|
| |
Located on Crowleys Ridge, Lake Poinsett State Park is very different
from the flat farm land around it. It makes a great place to camp
on a paddling trip in East Arkansas because it is not terribly far
from St. Francis Sunken Lands WMA or other
destinations. The paddling here is nothing spectacular, but there
is a good-sized lake. I was somewhat disappointed that there are houses
around the lake, but it is nice for a late evening or early morning
paddle while camping there. |

| Accomodations |

The campground is primarily setup for RVs, but tent camping there
is not bad. There are bathrooms and a shower or two. They are not
the best I have seen, but they are better than primitive camping.
There are a few restaurants in Harrisburg, a short drive away. |
