In 2005, we moved to Memphis and bought kayaks to replace the mountains as our primary source of outdoor activities. Being new to the area, I turned to the internets to find great places to go paddle around the Mid-South. To my surprise, there was a tremendous dearth of information regarding kayaking or canoeing anywhere around here. After doing a little more exploration around the area, the lack of information is even more frustrating because there are some tremendous places to paddle in the region.

So, I decided to create my own canoe and kayak guide for this area. So far, Leslie and I have been quite a few great places within an easy drive of memphis.
