DESTINATIONS - Cooks Lake

Based upon a trip description by Cowper Chadbourn
Last Updated April 22, 2006

Cooks Lake is a short day paddle located about 3 miles ESE of Casscoe, or about 16 miles E of Stuttgart. No map skills required beyond finding the put-in at the Cook's Lake boat ramp N34.51316 W91.27345.

Status: No trip report yet, just impressed with what we saw at the access point while driving around on a very cold, rainy, winter day. This is an approximately two mile long Oxbow lake lined with cypress trees. There is an excellent boat ramp and very well maintained boat dock, because there is an Education Center here funded by Arkansas Game and Fish (and USFWS or others?). I think Cook Lake would be a great easy day trip.

Let us know if you paddle at Cooks Lake and you can contribute your own trip report.
